SHEP’s DeafBlind First Responders Program

Program Mission and Goals

The SHEP DeafBlind First Responders Program aims to empower Oklahoma First

Responders responding to the Deaf and DeafBlind community by providing them

with essential skills and training necessary for effective emergency response.

Our mission is to foster inclusion and ensure that First Responders create and

sustain an effective bridge of communication with dual sensory loss individuals in

their communities. Through specialized certified training and support, we strive to

create a safer and more accessible environment for all. By partnering with local

organizations and sponsors, we enhance our ability to build a network of capable

responders who can confidently serve during emergencies, ultimately promoting

independence and resilience among participants.
