I Am DeafBlind (Iamdb)

The purpose of this project is to project independence for individuals who experience Dual Sensory loss. SHEP will provide training for the DB to understand tactile sign language, environmental explanation, how to live in a seeing and hearing world and establish a strong mental health and awareness of their own DeafBlind ABILITY. The IamDB program will enrich the lives of the shut-in DB who do not have state approval or funding. The program will educate individuals how to interact with a Support Service Provider and how having the ability to communicate and see through the eyes of their SSP they can live in the community and interact with their diverse community.

The IamDB workshop sessions will be held separately from the current SHEP support groups (handiwork club, move club, talk club, etc.)

Thank you to everyone who joined our first course! Stay tuned for upcoming dates.
