Yes, you really can touch all of the art in this exhibition! Join us for an opening reception 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 16 celebrating the return of the popular exhibition “Please Touch the Art” after a pandemic-related hiatus. The exhibition engages all five senses, with a special focus on visitors who are blind or visually impaired. “Please Touch the Art” is for anyone who wants to experience art in a new way – or who has had to suppress the urge to touch a painting at a museum! Enjoy snacks and activities, listen to endangered sounds, and find out if you’re a “supertaster” at this fun event. Free parking is available in any TCC lot.
The exhibition was formed through an open call, and thirty percent of exhibiting artists identify as blind, visually impaired, DeafBlind, or disabled.
Many thanks to our partners, the Tulsa Community College Foundation, the Center for Individuals with Physical Challenges, NewView Oklahoma, Oklahoma School for the Blind, and especially Jeri Cooper of Jeri’s House.

In 1985, the Leadership Midwest City class sought to create an event that would bring citizens together to support local restaurants and their local community. In that endeavor, Taste of Midwest City was born and has continued to grow into a much anticipated, fun, interactive, and philanthropic event.
Like everything else, the pandemic caused a break in this yearly event, but the 2023 Leadership Midwest City class is ready to bring it back bigger and better than ever.
We invite you to join us and help our community REDISCOVER the Taste of Midwest City on Tuesday, April 18th at the Reed Conference Center.
All of the proceeds raised through ticket sales and silent auction will benefit local Midwest City nonprofits. The Leadership Midwest City Class of 2023 is excited to bring this popular event back to our community.
What is the Taste of Midwest City? Taste of Midwest City is a family-oriented fundraiser that features an all-you-can-eat buffet of MWC and local restaurants that is sure to please everyone. There is also a silent auction filled with donations from local businesses. The funds raised at Taste of Midwest City are then reinvested into local charities.
Note: Free admission for children 5 and under
